We are seeking an organized, personable, and hardworking individual to join our service team for this seasonal position. Training is scheduled to begin in mid-March, with shifts beginning as early as April. Indoor/outdoor shifts will be assigned, as needed, across our dining rooms and rooftop bars.
This a serving-first role with opportunity to pick up and sustain a mixed schedule between the floor and the bar. The ideal candidate has at least one year of serving experience in casual to fine dining settings and some bartending experience (e.g., a knowledge of and ability to prepare classic cocktails). Craft cocktail and craft beer experience are pluses!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greeting guests when they arrive
Remaining attentive to guests’ needs and wants
Adhering to all laws and rules regarding alcohol service with diligence
Speaking knowledgeably about our local and seasonal menus, our own craft beer, and craft cocktails
Recommending dishes based on guests’ preferences
Ringing in drink and food orders
Adhering to food, sanitary, and safety standards
Keeping a positive attitude while interacting with guests
Managing guest tabs and payments
Handling complaints
Working with a manager to solve guest problems and conflicts
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Cleaning and sanitizing after guests depart
Communicating effectively with back-of-house
Remaining responsible for personal cash bank; reporting tips at the end of shift
Cleaning as a team at the end of shift
Running and bussing when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & REQUIREMENTS
Punctuality
Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Comfortable with regular use of stairs
Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout an 8-hour shift
Ability to work in a well-organized team
