Front-of-House Attendant

Part/Full Time

We are seeking an organized and personable individual to join our front of house team as a utility player across our host stand and cafe service counter, and to provide support to our manager and service staff. The ideal candidate is looking for a career path with room for growth in the hospitality industry, is especially comfortable with guest engagement, and comes with some hospitality experience. However, we are willing to train an individual with the right demeanor!


Front of House Attendants work collaboratively as part of a FOH team to greet guests, provide accurate wait-times, facilitate reservations, and manage waitlists. They will also provide support behind the service counter, filling soups, warming breads, and plating desserts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area

  • Greet guests promptly

  • Maintain a professional and warm demeanor

  • Communicate clearly regarding accurate wait times and reservations

  • Work as part of a team to keep track of guest needs, waits, server assignments, etc.

  • Possess a basic knowledge of seasonal menus (food, tap list, cocktails, & wine)

  • Facilitate, organize, and manage reservations and wait lists

  • Escort customers to tables and the bar

  • Provide menus to customers and communicate expectations for their server’s arrival

  • Assist wait staff in delivering waters/bread service to tables, as needed

  • Assign waitstaff to tables

  • Communicate with waitstaff clearly and efficiently

  • Answer incoming phone calls and address customer inquiries

  • Take over the phone reservations

  • Take clear messages from guests and phone inquiries and relay to a manager, as needed

  • Maintain a clean and organized cafe service station

  • Follow food safety and sanitation protocols and procedures

  • Watch for order tickets and prep soup, warm bread, and plate desserts promptly

  • Fill condiments, prepare coffee and tea service, and serve soft beverages as needed

  • Assist staff in food running and table bussing, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & REQUIREMENTS

  • Punctuality

  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Comfortable with regular use of stairs

  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout an 8-hour shift

  • Ability to work in a well-organized team

  • Energetic, flexible, and quick thinking

  • Warm and inviting personality

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Prioritization of cleanliness and food safety

  • Highly organized

  • Ability to take direction and work swiftly and calmly in a fast-paced, high-energy environment

  • Preferred: previous experience working in the hospitality industry
