Rambling House is seeking a well-rounded addition to our Front of House team to provide support to our management and servers.
Our FOH team will greet guests, provide accurate wait-times, facilitate reservations, and manage waitlists. They will also provide support to the FOH team behind the service counter, filling soups, warming breads, and plating desserts.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Welcome guests to the venue
Provide accurate wait times, monitor waiting lists, and communicate with waiting guests
Escort customers to tables
Provide menus and assign waitstaff
Communicate with and assist waitstaff as needed
Maintain a clean reception area
Answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries
Service Station Support
Prep soup, warm bread, and plate desserts for waitstaff as tickets print
Fill condiments, coffee and tea, and soft beverages as needed
Maintain a clean service station
Assist staff in food running and table bussing when necessary
Qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Warm and inviting personality
Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess
Understanding of restaurant etiquette
Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Experience in managing reservations
Demonstrable customer-service skills
Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
Strong organizational skills
Availability to work in shifts as needed
Ability to work quickly and effectively
Ability to pivot and change roles as necessary
Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift
High school diploma; hospitality certification is a plus
